The Brand Storytelling Theater Returns!

Brand Storytelling 2023: a Sanctioned Event of the Sundance Film Festival will see the return of the Brand Storytelling Theater, a unique showcase of brand-funded features, shorts, and episodic series, for which screening submissions are being accepted now through September 30, 2022.

Over the past few years, more and more brands have wanted to share brand films with their peers and the media, production and content studios that gather for Brand Storytelling each January in Park City. Screenings have emerged as one of the most valued parts of the attendee experience, as brands are realizing the necessity to create content that attracts and engages. In that spirit, Brand Storytelling is proud to present the return of the Brand Storytelling Theater.

In its second year and first time in-person, The Brand Storytelling Theater will showcase the best in brand-funded films, featuring entries in the feature, short, and episodic categories. These projects are representative of the high-quality production and storytelling that is resulting from brands partnering with talented artists, directors, writers, and producers. Brands are excelling in their focus on entertaining, informing, and inspiring audiences with compelling stories.

Brand Storytelling has invited a group of industry luminaries to serve as committee members to curate a slate of films to be featured over three days in Park City. The films that are selected will represent the very best in brand filmmaking as chosen by this diverse group of brands, directors, producers, and agencies. We are very proud of the group that has come together to take on this project of reviewing and selecting films (check out the selection committee here).

Last year’s entries demonstrated that we’ll be sure to see strong entrants in each category as brands continue to excel across the feature, short, and episodic formats. Selected films will afford the filmmakers, storytellers, media, and production companies involved the opportunity to introduce their work and share it with a brand audience. Each film will serve as a Brand Storytelling case study, demonstrating that brands are turning to creating quality content that audiences seek out.

The selected films will be announced publicly in the final week of October. The slate of “Official Selections for Brand Storytelling 2023” will be posted to Brands and their partners will enjoy the prestige of displaying the “Brand Storytelling Official Selection” laurel on social media and having their films watched by a global audience of peers and partners. Join us as we celebrate this new era and applaud these films and the brands who bring them to the screen.
