Mediabrands Content Studio (MBCS) announced that Dawn Reese has been named as its first-ever U.S. President. Reese joins Alejandro Lopez on the U.S. leadership team. Lopez recently assumed the role of U.S. Chief Creative Officer, broadening his creative remit to focus on the growth and expansion of the division’s creative capabilities.

Reese, who most recently served as SVP, Managing Director at UM Studios U.S., will now run U.S operations, ensuring that all programs deliver upon clients’ strategic and financial objectives and will serve as a strategic partner to Lopez on creative output. The pair will jointly lead content across Mediabrands agencies, UM, Initiative, and Reprise, and will deploy Mediabrands resources to ensure that programs are both highly effective and are of top caliber creatively.

In the three years I have worked with Dawn, she has achieved great success. UM Studios is a key growth driver for UM. Her business is extraordinarily healthy, and their creative output has never been better. Under her leadership, clients like USPS and Johnson and Johnson have won top industry awards and major recognition for projects like Dear Santa and #From the Start, respectively,” said Mediabrands Global Chief Content Officer, Brendan Gaul, “We are thrilled to have Dawn leading our agencies’ U.S. content propositions as we continue to unite creativity and media through storytelling,” he added.

In addition to Reese’s new role, MBCS will be launching a West Coast Office headquartered in Century City, California, which will be located within IPG sister companies, the blue-chip communications firm Rogers & Cowan PMK, and influencer agency, ITB. The integration is designed to enhance MBCS’s entertainment industry connections and further foster its influencer capabilities on behalf of Mediabrands’ clients everywhere.

Since Reese joined UM Studios, she has worked with powerhouse brands like American Express, BMW, Spotify and Levi’s®. Reese also helped guide UM Studios through the challenges of COVID-19, consistently helping clients achieve strong revenue gains and increased margins.

“I’m honored to be taking the reins at MBCS in the US and look forward to the opportunity to continue delivering world-class content that moves audiences, KPI’s and sales on behalf of our clients. I couldn’t be prouder of our team at UM and the work they produced. With my expanded remit, we will be able to support our brands and agencies like never before,” said Reese.
